It’s just two weeks until the Wizard World Toronto Comic Con descends upon Ontario’s capital and The Geek Effect crew is gearing up to attend. March 26, 27 and 28 will mark the first time that the Wizard World Con Tour has ever come to the city. Wizard Entertainment was founded by Gareb Shamus in 1991 and today, in addition to publishing several books and magazines about pop-culture including Wizard and ToyFare, Shamus also produces the North American Comic Con Tour.

Toronto is the first stop on the year long tour and the only Canadian leg of the journey. Other notable destinations include Anaheim, Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Austin and Atlanta.
Very much like Toronto’s FanExpo or the the big daddy of all cons, the San Diego Comic Con, Wizard World is truly a multimedia extravaganza. While founded on comics, the con is overflowing with hundreds of celebrity guests from every corner of the nerd-i-verse including movies, television, wrestling, boxing and, new this year, reality television stars. You’ll be able to see and meet cast members from Star Trek, Hellboy, Resident Evil, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, V, Stargate: Atlantis, Baywatch, Survivor, The Amazing Race, So You Think You Can Dance and Big Brother along with wrestling superstars like Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, George “The Animal” Steele, Jim Duggan, Ax and Smash, Traci Brooks and Jackie Haas.
As mentioned, The Geek Effect crew will be providing coverage all weekend long so be sure to stay tuned right here for all sorts of action and excitement. Additionally, you’ll be able to find in depth coverage on SPACE, Canada’s science fiction, speculation and fantasy network, the official television sponsor of Wizard World Toronto. And of course, what would a Toronto comic convention be without the usual line-up of local geek culture personalities such as Liana K, Carol Zara and Sean Ward just to name a few!
