Star Wars Oddities – Secret Weaponry of WW2

Imagine, if you will, how the AT-AT Walker might have turned the tide of battle should it have lurched out, onto the battlefield during World War II. It sets the imagination spinning doesn’t it?

Now picture an AT-AT Walker chasing you down a ravaged city street. It would appear the Rebel seen here is attempting to escape with everything but the kitchen sink.

All Terrain Scout Transports would have been perfect for storming beaches!

Stormtrooper armour would have been perfect on the front lines.

X-Wings would have established air superiority, but perhaps would not have had quite enough room to touch down on aircraft carriers.

Imagine if TIE Bombers had been employed at the Battle of Midway or even Pearl Harbor.

As you can tell from the images above a few others have already gone to some lengths pondering what it might have been like if Star Wars technology had existed during World War II. They’ve even gone so far as to employ some savvy Photoshop magic and bring such geeky fever dreams to life. Of course, this is all to the benefit of lazier geeks like you and I.

A friend directed me to some of these doctored photos a while back, but I had completely forgotten about them until late last week. After a little internet research I discovered that all of these images and many more can be found on an entertaining site called If Star Wars Was Real. Click on through and check it out!
