So finally trying to move the site over to the more streamlined edition of The Geek Effect I wrote about in “Change Can Be A Good Thing” two weeks ago. The problem with moving stuff is the breaking that happens (just like home renovations).

I’ve exported all the historical posts from the previous site database but it appears the import isn’t working as well as hoped. Will attempt to import content again later and see where it breaks.  Also discovered that WordPress is no longer supporting PHP4 or MySQL 4. which our old platform happen to be using those exact items, so the move was inevitable.

Worst case scenario is the historical data doesn’t carry over. We’re not overly concerned about it as we’ve never done those A year ago on The Geek Effect type posts. Don’t think people were really looking up old posts so we’re really just trying to carry things over for nostalgia.

The look you see now may not be the final one. We’re trying on new paint to see how it looks. As we can clearly see, several things still need to be implemented about the theme and plugins/services.

So please watch your step in the mess and look forward to a return of continuous content from your geeks.
